Mrs. Betty Rose Lewis, 82, wife of Frank Lewis and a resident of Cheriton, passed away Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024, at her residence. A native of the Eastern Shore, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Edward Ewell and the late Josephine Ward Ewell.
She was the co-owner of Ewell’s Furniture and Appliance for 36 years, a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, attended Community Church of God, had a strong Christian faith, was a prayer warrior, loved flowers and her Harley motorcycle, and was a member of Women’s Club of Cape Charles and Harley Owner’s Group.
In addition to her loving husband of 60 years, she is survived by three sons, Troy Lewis (Lisa), of Oyster, Vance Lewis (Jo Ann), of Cheriton, and Bryan Lewis of Hutto, Texas; a sister, Linda Brady, of Wardtown; six grandchildren, Kristin Lewis, Justin Kertesz, Samantha Lewis, Zachary Lewis, Kennedy Lewis, and Sophie Lewis; and three great-grandchildren, Reid Kertesz, Isla Kertesz, and Brielle Brown.
A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Cape Charles Cemetery with the Revs. Tommy Kellam and Ernie Lauer officiating.
