An Accomack County man was fatally injured Friday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash north of Gargatha.
Joseph Rice, 84, of Saxis Road, Temperanceville, was pronounced dead at the scene, said State Police Sgt. Michelle Anaya.
An investigation showed Rice was traveling south on U.S. Route 13 when the vehicle ran off the roadway and struck a utility pole, Anaya said.
Neither speed nor alcohol were contributing factors, she said.
The crash remains under investigation to determine if the crash was the result of a medical condition, Anaya said.
