An Accomack County woman has announced her candidacy for the office of Accomack Commissioner of the Revenue in the Nov. 7 election.

Kim Satterwhite has been employed in the commissioner of revenue office as a deputy commissioner for more than 17 years.

Satterwhite’s knowledge base comes from having worked in the commissioner’s office for these years as a direct report to the current commissioner of revenue, Debbie Midgett, who will retire at the end of this year.

Satterwhite also served under the late Leslie M. Savage as well as George N. Fulk, both former revenue commissioners for Accomack County.

The candidate says that her main goals as commissioner of revenue would be to promote continued transparency and accountability, and to work hard to fairly implement the laws which are dictated by the Code of Virginia and the Accomack County Board of Supervisors.

“Throughout my career, I have witnessed firsthand the importance of effective administration and providing polite, prompt, and professional service to the citizens I serve,” he said.

“It is with this unwavering passion that I now seek the opportunity to serve as your commissioner of revenue. I humbly request your support and trust in my ability to lead as commissioner of revenue of our great county.”
