Margaret Mapp

Mrs. Margaret Ann Parker Mapp, 75, daughter of the late Charles E. Parker Sr. and the late Larcenia Drummond Parker, was born on Dec. 4, 1947, in Accomack County. She went to be with the Lord on June 9, 2023, at her residence.

Margaret was educated in the Accomack County Public Schools. She was married to the late Albert Mapp.

At an early age, Margaret joined Herbert Baptist Church. She was a member of the Senior Choir and Herbert’s Special Choir and was on the Usher Board.

Margaret leaves to cherish her memory:  daughters, Cheryl Davis and Michelle Mapp; sons, Darnell Mapp and Markivus Mapp; nine grandchildren; five  great-grandchildren; sisters, Cora Custis and Lillie Parker; brother, Jerry Parker;  uncle, Stanley Parker Sr.; god-granddaughter, Danielle Boggs; god-great-granddaughter, Tink Harmon; sisters-in-law, Dee Mapp and Carolyn Mapp; and a host of nieces, nephews, special friends, and her Herbert Baptist Church family.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 17, 2023, from Herbert Baptist Church, Wachapreague, with the Rev. Frank Morris officiating. Interment was in the Burton’s Church Cemetery, Melfa.

Arrangements were by the Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac.
