Mrs. Madeline Virginia Fletcher, 93, who was affectionately called “Mat,” fell asleep in death at Hartley Hall Nursing and Rehab Facility in Pocomoke City, Md., on May 15, 2023. She was born March 4, 1930, to Eddie and Rita Banks. Madeline was married to Emanuel Fletcher Sr.

Madeline received her education in the Accomack County Public Schools.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mappsville. She was employed by Holly Farms as a poultry worker for many years.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 20, 2023, from the Chapel of Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac, with Brother Aaron Finney officiating. Interment was in the First Baptist Church Cemetery, Mappsville.

Madeline is survived by two sons, Harvey (Mary) and Glenn (Olive); stepson, Emanuel Jr.; stepdaughter, Maxine; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; six great- great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Arrangements were by the Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac.
