Mr. John G. McCarthy, better known as Jack, 92, of Eastville, died peacefully at his home Wednesday, May 3, 2023.  Jack was born in Bridgeton, N.J., Dec. 5, 1930. He was a retired butcher. He also served several years in the Marines. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, building model airplanes, fishing, reading, drinking Scotch, and was a big history buff.

Jack is survived by his wife of 39 years, Nancy McCarthy (Va.); his children, Elaine Spencer (Va.), Patricia Ambrose (Va.), John Rourke (N.J.), John McCarthy III (Debbie) (Pa.), Robert McCarthy (N.J.), and Patricia Layton (N.J.); sisters, Molly Ward (N.J.), and Patricia Hall (John) (Del.); grandchildren, Wesley Spencer (Va.), Kristin Young (Brad) (Va.), Sarah Rourke (N.J.), John Rourke (N.J.), John McCarthy IV (Becky) (Va.), Amanda Bughman (Eric) (Pa.), Rebecca McCarthy,  Felicia  McCarthy,  Larry McCarthy, Ryan McCarthy (Fla.), Mary Melli (Paul) (N.J.),  Jessika Manning (Mark) (N.J.), and Heather Gallagher (N.J.); and 22 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Hazel McCarthy (N.J.); brother, Robert McCarthy (N.J.); and two sons, Lawrence McCarthy (N.J.), and Joseph McCarthy (N.J.).

No formal service has been scheduled at this time. Donations can be made in his honor for dementia research at Dementia Society of America, P.O. Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901.
