Ms. Shirley M. Bibbins, 69, of Accomac, departed this life on Friday, April 14, 2023, at TidalHealth Hospital in Salisbury, Md.
Shirley was born in Onley to Edward and Madgeline Mason. She received her education in Accomack County. She was very creative and had a passion for artistry and the culinary arts. She received multiple art scholarships from several institutions, including the Art Institution of Philadelphia. Shirley took a break from school to work with her mother in the agriculture industry.
In 1972, she married Saunders Willie Bibbins Sr. and God blessed them with six children. She later returned to school to achieve her GED at Eastern Shore Community College in Melfa.
Funeral services were held on Monday, April 17, 2023, at the chapel of Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co, Accomac, with Stanley Mason officiating. Interment was in the Mt. Nebo Baptist Church Cemetery, Onancock.
She will be forever remembered by her three daughters, Sheila Ames, Yvonne Bibbins, and Cassandra Bibbins; three sons, Saunders Bibbins Jr., Gerard Bibbins, and Terrell “TJ” Bibbins; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, George “G.I.” Strand and Stanley L. “Tom” Mason; three sisters, Frances Allen, Maryann Beamon, and Evelyn Logan; and countless relatives and friends.
Arrangements were by Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac.
