Mrs. Patricia Lynn Furniss, the wife of Edward Allen Furniss and a resident of Melfa, died Jan. 19, 2023. She was 61.
Born in Georgia, she was a licensed practical nurse who worked at Shore Lifecare at Parksley, Arcadia Nursing Home in Gargatha, and Continuum Pediatrics of Virginia Beach, helping Eastern Shore children.
Furniss loved being an LPN and took pride in her work. She also loved to crochet and was fond of crocheting animals for her grandchildren for Christmas and other special days.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by five stepchildren: Brooks Furniss (Maria) of Baltimore; Amanda Furniss (Tyree) of Salisbury, Md.; Brent Furniss of Washington state; Ashley Furniss of Buffalo, N.Y.; and Brandon Furniss of North Carolina.
She also is survived by eight grandchildren: Aaliyah, Bre’Ona, Izabella, Ava, Levi, Hailey, Eliana, and Ethan.
She is also survived by the grandchild she was raising, Aaron Tyler Furniss.
Mourning her loss are her family in Tennessee, including her sister, Teresa Ward; brother, Wade McGee; nieces, Crystal Cloninger and Lindsey Hall; great-nephews, Caleb, Tagen, and Blaine Cloninger; and great-nieces Chloe Hall and Katie Cloninger.
Graveside memorial services will be held Saturday, Feb. 11, at 2 p.m. at John W. Taylor Memorial Cemetery in Temperanceville.
