Mr. James P. Davis, 62, of Melfa, departed this life on Jan. 27, 2023, at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News.
Born in Melfa, James was the beloved son of the late James and Elsie Davis. He was affectionately known as “Pete” or “J.D.” by his family and friends.
Pete was educated in the Accomack County Public Schools, where he played football and was a graduate of Central High School. After graduation, he joined the United States Army National Guard.
At an early age, Pete received Christ at Snead’s Memorial United Methodist Church.
Pete worked in the maintenance department at Perdue Farms for over 40 years.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023, from the chapel of Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac, with the Rev. James Nock officiating. Interment was in the Snead’s Memorial U. M. Church cemetery, Keller.
He leaves to cherish his memories his son, Gavin Johnson; two sisters, Francesta Watts and Lisa Baines; two brothers, Ronnie Davis and Robert Davis; one sister-in-law, Lisa Predeoux; four aunts; six nieces; four nephews; four great-nieces; ten great-nephews; one great-great-niece; one great- great-nephew; five special cousins; best friend, Bobby Richardson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Arrangements were by the Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac.
