Mr. Alvin Bailey, 60, of Machipongo, departed this life Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2022, at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Onancock.
Born in Nassawadox, Alvin was the son of the late William Sr. and Bettie Bailey. He was affectionately known as “Grady” or “Boo” by his family and friends.
Throughout his life he worked in many industries, including Perdue, Bayshore Concrete, and as a waterman at Willis Wharf.
Graveside services were held Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022, at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery, Painter, with the Rev. Gregory Williams officiating.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories: his loving companion, Harriette Cypress; two daughters, Antoinette Seymore and Sherika Seymore; two stepchildren, Robert Cypress and Shalonda Niskey; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; sisters, Sally Bailey and Betty Howard; brothers, William Bailey Jr. and Henry Bailey; four aunts; three uncles; one great-aunt; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
