Miss Susie Linda Simpkins, 69, of Accomac, departed this life Friday, July 29, 2022, at Lake Taylor Transition Care Hospital in Norfolk.

Born in Accomac, she was the beloved daughter of the late John E. and Sarah E. Simpkins.
“Linda,” as she was affectionately known by family and friends, was educated in the public schools of Accomack County. Upon graduation, she entered the workforce and worked in several industries. Linda was a personal care assistant before her health began to fail.

Linda was a member of Macedonia AME Church in Accomac. She served faithfully for countless years. Linda was an intricate part of the Pastor’s Aide Committee and the Culinary Committee. She worked tirelessly alongside her mother, sisters, and other family members in the kitchen at Macedonia over several decades. They were given the name “The Dream Team,” because they organized stellar events for the church. They made sure each church function was blessed with delicious food and elegant décor.

Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 12, 2022, at the chapel of Cooper & Humbles, Accomac, with the Rev. Milton P. Bunting officiating. Interment was in the Fairview Lawn Cemetery, Onancock.
