Mr. Brantley Hinmon, 88, of Wattsville, departed this life on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Peak Healthcare at Hartley in Pocomoke City, Md.

Born in New Church, he was the beloved son of the late John Sewell Hinmon Jr. and the late Rae V. Harmon. As a teenager, Brantley entered the workforce as a farm equipment operator. He was better known to the trucking community as “Barber Boy.” He had many endeavors in life: such as driving for Buddy Boy chicken processing plant, operating his own trucking business, and providing management and maintenance for the chemical plant in New Church. He was a faithful and dutiful member of Mt. Zion Methodist Church, in Withams, until his health began to falter in his later years.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 18, 2022, at the chapel of Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac, with the Rev. Michael O. Press officiating. Interment was in the New Beginnings U.M. Church Cemetery, Wattsville.

He leaves to cherish his memory: six children, Wanda Bailey, Mersha Bailey, Carmel Justis, Nerville Hinmon, Rochelle Taylor, and Treon Hinmon; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Wayne, Leander, and Keith; one sister, Clayshia; one sister-in-law, Mary Hinmon; close friend, Vernon Davis; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Arrangements are by the Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac.
