Ms. Margaret F. Reid, 74, was called from labor to reward on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Onancock.
Born in Accomack County, she was the beloved daughter of the late John and Ruth Reid. She was affectionately known as “Mop,” Miss Margaret,” and “MaMa” by her family and friends. Margaret was employed by Holly Farms, now Tyson Foods, for 37 years. After her retirement, she mastered the roll of a stay-at-home grandmother.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 28, 2022, at Holy Trinity Baptist Church, Pungoteague, with the Rev. Willie D. Justis officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
She leaves to cherish her memory: daughters, JoAnn Bowens, Vanessa Bowens, and Yolanda “YoYo” Turner; special niece, Doretha Gaines; special son, Bryant Harmon; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Susie M. Taylor; brothers, William Reid and Eugene Savage; sister-in-law, Ella Savage; brother-in-law, Wesley Phillips; two special sisters, Doris Knox and Minnie White; special brother, Levin James; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
