Lady Firebirds Upset Warriors in Big District Game

The Nandua Warriors’ softball team hosted Arcadia on Thursday, May 12. The Lady Warriors fell behind early in the game after Arcadia put up five runs in the second inning. Nandua was unable to respond as the Firebirds continued to dominate at the plate. The Firebird took the victory with a final score of 11-4. 

Sydney Jester earned the win in the circle for Arcadia. Jester threw a complete seven-inning game, allowing four runs on eight hits, striking out five, and walking zero. At the plate, Arcadia recorded a total of 10 hits including a double by Jester and a home run by Bella Williams. Williams, Jayda Tull, and Brianna Montross each had multiple hits in the game. 

Nandua’s offense was led by Kathleen McAuliffe and Hailey Justice who each collected two hits for the Warriors. Both teams will conclude district play after this week and will begin preparing for postseason playoff games.
