Ponies Baseball Team Picks Up A Win

The Northampton Yellow Jackets varsity baseball team hosted the Chincoteague Ponies Tuesday, May 3. The Ponies won 21-4. 

The Yellow Jackets built a 3-1 lead in the first inning and the Ponies evened up the score at three runs apiece by the top of the third inning. For the remainder of the game, the Ponies outscored the Yellow Jackets 18-1 to capture the win. 

Andrew Sneeringer pitched for the Ponies, allowing six hits and striking out ten batters. Wyatt Revell led the Ponies’ offense with three hits, two RBIs, and one run. Kent Reed and Sneeringer each had two hits. John Holloway and Marcello Rosanova each earned one hit.

For the Yellow Jackets, Charles Chapman opened the game on the mound, giving up six hits and striking out six batters. Nicolas Sawyer, Devin Thortnton, and Jayden Dilley all pitched in relief. Brayden Buyrn led the offense with two hits and one run. Tanner Feltes, Romano Onley, Chapman, and Dilley each earned one hit.
