Nandua Warriors Record a Big Victory Over Arcadia Firebirds

The Warriors took down the Firebirds on Thursday, April 21, at Nandua with a final score of 15-3. 

Nandua started things off strong in the first inning as Ripken Robbins recorded the Warriors first home-run of the season. Robbins drove in runs with a grand slam and a single, within the first inning of the game. RJ Guy, Isaac Stodghill, Brandon Smith, and Tyler Greene each had hits in the inning as well, bringing the score to 10-0. 

Robbins was not only dominant at the plate, but also earned the win for the Warriors on the mound. The righthander allowed one hit and zero runs through one inning of work, striking out one and walking zero. Aiden McIntyre and Chayce Wayman entered in relief for the Warriors. Wayman recorded one strikeout before McIntyre came in from the bullpen. McIntyre had an impressive eight strikeouts in three and two-thirds innings of work, allowing no runs and no hits while walking one batter.

Offensively for the Warriors, the team recorded a total of 10 hits on the day. Tyler Green led Nandua, going 3-for-3 at the plate with an RBI and a double. Brandon Adamos and Isaac Stodhill each had a double in the game as well going 2-for-3 and 1-for-2 respectively. 

Arcadia scored its three runs in the second inning, with Jalik Downing, Carson Lucy, and Zach Giddens each recording RBIs. Lucy led the offense for the Firebirds going 1-for-2 at the plate. 

Nandua extends its record to 8-1 with the victory and was set to compete again on Thursday against Chincoteague. The Firebirds took on Northampton at home the same day.
