Mrs. Josephine S. Boldin, 87, of Highland Spring Park, Va., formerly of the Shore, peacefully departed this life and went to be with the Lord on Friday, Feb. 25, 2022, at the Memorial Medical Center in Richmond, surrounded by family and clergy.
Born in Northampton County, she was the daughter of Harry and Idella Taylor Smith. As a young woman, Josephine married John Boldin Sr. (now deceased) and made her home in Craddockville. She worked part-time in the seafood, canning, and packaging industries to help support her family. Later, she moved to Richmond, where she worked as a personal caregiver. She attended 5th Street Baptist Church and St. Paul’s Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 19, 2022, at the chapel of Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac, with the Rev. Charles Kellam officiating. Interment was in the New Mt. Zion Baptist cemetery, Painter.
Josephine leaves to cherish her loving memories: four daughters, Rosie Britt, Bathriene Johnson, Pauline Boldin, and Loretta Sutton; 12 grandchildren; two sisters, Corine Kellam and Helen Starchia; as well as a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other loved ones, and friends.
Arrangements are by the Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac.
