Mrs. Geraldine V. Cox, 80, departed this life peacefully Thursday, Feb. 17, 2022, in Onancock.
Born in Cherrystone, Geraldine was the daughter of Richard and Helen Kellam. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, relative, friend, and devoted Jehovah’s Witness. Geraldine married James E. Cox at the age of 18. They were married for 55 joyous years before she was widowed.
She worked as a housekeeper before switching careers. She retired after 19 years of service as a home health aide with the Visiting Nurses Association of Central Jersey, formerly MCOSS.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 26, 2022, at the chapel of Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac, with Brother Mike Firestone officiating.
She leaves to cherish her memories: sons, James E. Cox, Earnest Cox, and Gerald Cox Jr.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; beloved sister, Brenda Smith; and a host of special family members and friends.
Arrangements are by the Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Inc., Accomac.
