Mrs. Marietta P. Parker, 87, of Accomac, heard His call and departed this life Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2022, at her residence.
Born in Accomac, Marietta was the beloved daughter of the late Raymond and Bertie Bagwell Pettit. She met and married William Parker and they raised 12 children with the help of her mother. She was a domestic worker until her retirement.
Marietta was a member of Macedonia AME Church in Accomac. She was a servant of the Lord and loved reading God’s word and attending Sunday school and Bible study. Marietta served in many capacities of the church. She also loved her church family.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022, at the chapel of Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac, with the Rev. DeAngelo Johnson officiating. Interment was in the Household of Ruth Cemetery, Accomac.
Marietta leaves to cherish her precious memories: one sister, Catherine Mason; one sister-in-law, Ora L. Pettit; four sons, William Parker, Curtis Parker, Edward Parker, and Frederick Parker; four daughters, Daisey Parker, Betsy Parker, Stephanie Parker, and Etta Parker; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Arrangements were by the Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac.
