Rain, Gusty Winds, Minor Flooding Expected Locally for Sunday

The National Weather Service in Wakefield, Va., has issued a briefing about the potential winter weather Sunday, Jan. 16.

Threats: Accumulating snow and light icing inland. Heavy rain, gusty winds, and coastal flooding along the coast.

Timing: Sunday and Sunday night.

Location: The best chance for snow east of Interstate 95 will be (briefly) Sunday late morning into early afternoon. Snow will gradually mix with and change to rain, freezing rain, and sleet inland, then all rain Sunday evening before ending.
