Mr. Eugene C. Taylor, of Onancock, departed this life Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021, at his residence.
Born in Bayside, Eugene was the beloved son of Esther Taylor and the late Eugene Davis. He was affectionately known as “Jack” by his family and friends. In later years, Jack relocated to New York, where he worked for IBM Corporation in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., until his retirement.
Private funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 11, 2021, at the chapel of Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac, with the Rev. James Rich officiating.
Jack is survived by his children: Andra Taylor, Sharrisse T. Fisher, Eugene Taylor, Minyelle S. Wharton, and Rykesh Spratley; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; mother, Esther Taylor; siblings, Barbara Ann Moody, Arlette Davis, Elvis Drummond, Duval Davis, James Drummond, Perry Finney, and Bobby Finney; best friend, Vernon Gunter Sr.; lifelong friend, Alfred Needam; longtime companion, Connie Lekatsas; several first cousins; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
