Police Identify Gunshot Victim Found in Oak Hall Field

The Accomack County Sheriff’s Office identified a gunshot victim found Monday in a field in Oak Hall as 43-year-old Maurice Lamont Fiddermon, of Temperanceville.
According to Sheriff W. Todd Wessells, the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a body in a field behind a residence in the 9200 block of Lankford Highway in Oak Hall, around 7:58 a.m. Monday.
When deputies arrived, they discovered an unresponsive male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The male, identified as Fiddermon, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The body was taken to the Norfolk Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause of death.
The Accomack County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Virginia State Police, Oak Hall Rescue, and the Accomack County Department of Public Safety.
