Mr. James Thomas Moore, 84, husband of the late Catherine Marie Moore and a resident of Cape Charles, passed away Monday, Nov. 22, 2021, at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Onancock. A native of Eastville, he grew up on Seaford Farm, and was the son of the late Claude Moore and the late Margaret Moore Moore. James was a U.S. Army veteran; a retired meat cutter for Meatland, B&B Market, and A&P; and a retired security guard for Kane Miller Canning Company. He loved to read Louis Lamour books, and watch NASCAR, football, and old westerns.
He is survived by two children, Christopher Allen Moore and his wife, Shannon, of Onley, and Donna Fay Moore, of Cape Charles; two grandchildren, Douglas Michael Moore and Ashleigh Gene Moore; a great-granddaughter, Marceline Alice Simpson Moore; a special friend, Barbara Thomas, of Eastville; and his furry friends, Dalton and Kiva.
A funeral service was conducted Monday, Nov. 29, 2021, at 11 a.m., at Doughty Funeral Home, with Pastor Jonathan Carpenter officiating. Interment followed in Eastville Baptist Church Cemetery. Family joined friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
