Mrs. Ada Joyce Killmon, 81, wife of the late Brooks Lewis Killmon and a resident of Bloxom, passed away Monday, Sept. 27, 2021, with her loving family at her side. Born Feb. 26, 1940, in Hopewell, Md., Ada was one of 13 children born to the late Hampton Wade Cullen and the late Edna Nelson Cullen.
Ada was a certified nursing assistant and had worked at the former Accomack County Nursing Home, as well as R&G Shirt Factory. Always looking for a good deal, Ada loved a good thrift store or yard sale buy. Those who spent any amount of time with Ada were guaranteed a few laughs, as her wit and sense of humor brought great joy to all.
Survivors include her daughters, Cathy K. McCoy (Clayton), of Tasley, and Peggy K. Collins, of Bloxom; sisters, Sarah, Jessie, Peggy, Edna, and Ola; brother, Butch; grandchildren, Amber Killmon and Sean McCoy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Parksley Funeral Home Thursday, Sept. 30, 2021, at 2 p.m., with Pastor Sam Welch officiating. Interment was in the Parksley Cemetery.
