Mrs. Sarah F. Downing, 56, of Onancock, departed this life Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2021, at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Onancock.
Born in Onancock, Sarah was the beloved daughter of the late Vernon and Florence Hall Strand. She was affectionately known as “Frances” by her family and friends. She was married to Theophilus “Theo” Downing. Sarah was employed at Perdue Farms in Accomac, until her health began to fail.
Private graveside services were held Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021, at Gaskins A.M.E Church Cemetery, Savageville, with the Rev. Milton P. Bunting officiating.
She leaves to cherish her fond memories: her husband, Theophilus Downing; daughter, Latina “Tink” Duffy; three grandchildren; three sisters, Chestina West, Juanita Warner, and Rosa Wise; four brothers, Mark Hall, Wayne Hall, Raymond Hall, and Cornell Hall; one brother-in-law; five sisters-in-law; special granddaughter, Saniyah Bailey; three special nieces; loving caregivers, Shanita Warner and Quo’nazja Warner; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Arrangements were by the Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac.
