Mrs. Joanne Mills Warren, of Cape Charles, passed away Dec. 14, 2020, in Landrum, S.C.

Born Feb. 11, 1930, in Nassawadox, she was the daughter of the late Allison Stephen Mills and the late Elizabeth Hurlock Mills. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Norman Randolph “Randy” Warren. She is survived by a daughter, Jody Warren Hough, and her husband, Ken, of Greensville, S.C.; a son, Stephen Randolph and his wife, Katherine Trower Warren, of Machipongo; grandchildren, Amy Hough Picone and husband, David, of Greenville, Mark Hough and wife, Kim, of West Chester, Pa., Randy Warren and wife, Leigh, of Charleston, S.C., Jesse Warren, of Taitung, Taiwan, Brian Warren and wife, Roberta, of Mechanicsville, Va.; great-grandchildren, Cole, Peyton, and Luke Hough, Bryce Picone, Ella and Tripp Warren; her sisters, Kay Colonna, of Accomac, and Allison Duncan, of Melbourne Beach, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Warren was a graduate of Cape Charles High School and attended Madison College and Westhampton College. She retired from Northampton County Schools as a division Media Center Director. She was a lifelong dedicated member of Trinity United Methodist Church, serving in many capacities. She was a charter member of the Cape Charles Historical Society serving as membership chairperson and a docent at the museum from the opening until the illness of her husband. She was a volunteer at the Northampton Memorial Library and a charter member of the Young Woman’s Club of Cape Charles, and also a volunteer in the gift shop of Shore Memorial Hospital.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, Dec. 19, 2020, at 11 a.m., at Cape Charles Cemetery, with the Rev. Barbara Schweitzer officiating.
