Shawn Michael Turner


Mr. Shawn “Shawny” Michael Turner, 18, of Bloxom, passed away Dec. 6, 2020, in Bloxom.
Born on July 30, 2002, in Nassawadox, he was the son of Shawn Christopher Turner (Ashley Greer) and April Kelly. Shawny was a recent graduate of Arcadia High School and enjoyed singing in the school chorus. He was a devoted member of the Parksley Volunteer Fire Company and the Bloxom Volunteer Fire Company. He loved baseball, hunting, fishing, and was known for always helping everyone and getting people to smile.

Other than his parents, he is survived by brothers, Christopher, Ethan, and Landon; a sister, Jordyn; his best friend and soulmate, Kaylynne Napoleone; grandparents, Michael Turner Sr. and Lucy Turner; grandparents, Philip Kelly and Terri Kelly; great-grandfathers, Richard Turner Sr., of Parksley, and Wayne Hart, of Bloxom; aunts and uncles, Michael Turner, of Michigan, Kaylen Panchagnula (Teja), of Richmond, Va., and Ashley Kelly, of Parksley; special close cousin, David Turner (Kayla) and their daughter, Ally; and numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins, family members, and friends.

Shawny was preceded in death by an aunt, Nikki Saady Turner, and his cousin, Emma Turner.

A graveside service will be held Friday, Dec. 11, 2020, at 2 p.m., from the graveside of the Liberty Cemetery in Parksley with the Rev. David Sabatino officiating.

Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Parksley Volunteer Fire Company or the Bloxom Volunteer Fire Company.

Arrangements are by the Thornton Funeral Home in Parksley.
