Mr. Robert William “Bob” Shanley, a resident of Cape Charles, passed away Monday, Nov. 2, 2020, at his residence. A native of Norwich, Conn., he was the son of the late Benjamin B. Shanley and the late Beatrice E. Eggleton Shanley. He was an avid fisherman, carpenter, artist, and guitar player. He retired from his passion of being a lifelong waterman in 2020.
He is survived by his children, Robert H.B. Shanley, Christy Iversen, Sharon Lewis, Lisa Lewis, and Joanne Powell; his grandchildren, Robert W. Shanley II, Hunter Pruitt, Jacob Brown, Audrey Fickel, Samantha Lewis, Alexandrea Lewis, Christopher Powell, Chandler Sharp, and Julian Gorman; and his great-grandchildren, Bryton Fickel, Jessie Lynn Fickel, Mahesh Sharp Jr., Mehki Sharp, and Ruth Powell.
Mr. Shanley is also survived by Jean Shanley, and many other loved ones and friends.
To honor his wishes, a public service will not be held. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
