Mrs. Lois B. Crockett, 88, of Tangier Island, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Nov. 6, 2020, from her home.

Born on Tangier Island on June 12, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Sidney and Annie Burton Spence. Her husband, Peter H. Crockett Sr., preceded her in death on Sept. 20, 1992.

She graduated from Tangier Combined School with the first graduating class that went 12 grades. She worked as a clerk for many years at Sandy’s Gift Shop and also helped her husband with his duties as a VMRC officer.

A member of Swain Memorial United Methodist Church, she loved to read and spend time with her children and grandchildren whom she adored.

She is survived by three sons, Dennis K. Crockett and wife, Glenna, of Tangier Island, Robert D. Crockett and wife, Gina, of Onancock, and Peter H. Crockett Jr. and wife, Susan, of Tangier Island; six grandchildren, Shelli Williams and husband, Terry, of Lubbock, Texas, Hugh Crockett and wife, Theresa, of Malvern, Pa., Megan Pinner and husband, Luke, of Littleton, Colo., Morgan Arnold and husband, Tyson, of Onancock, Logan Crockett and wife, Lindsey, of Marion, Md., and Nathan Crockett and wife, Kayla, of Tangier Island; 12 great-grandchildren, Lucas, Addison, Harper, Colton, Selah, Stella, Caleb, Dawsyn, Spence, Kamry, Rowen, and Kole; a brother-in-law, Louis Freed, of Baltimore, Md.; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Stella Freed.

A memorial service officiated by the Rev. Chuck Parks and Dennis K. Crockett will be held Sunday, Nov. 15, 2020, at 1 p.m., at Swain Memorial United Methodist Church on Tangier Island. Urn burial will be private in Crockett Family Cemetery.
