Dear Editor:
This letter is in response to “Random Facts About … the Man Who Saved Your Life,” by David Martin, published October 16, 2020
Shortly and sweetly, thank you, Vasily!
My dad, Orville L. Harmon, who lives in Mappsville, was aboard one of those U. S. Navy ships. In 1962 when the Cuban Missile Crisis became evident, Dad was assigned to temporary duty aboard the USS Charles P. Cecil. For his service, he received the Armed
Forces Expeditionary Medal.
