Onancock Man Victim of Accidental Drowning

A 35-year-old Onancock man died in an accidental drowning Tuesday.
The Accomack County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday at around 8:08 p.m. received a report of a body found floating in the water off Scarborough’s Island near Harborton, according to Sheriff Todd Wessells.
Deputies and the Virginia Marine Resources Commission responded to the scene and recovered the body of Jeff Joseph Koltys Jr.
Koltys’ body was taken to the Norfolk Medical Examiner’s Office and the cause of his death was determined to be accidental drowning.
The Accomack County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Virginia Marine Resources Commission, Virginia Department of Game and Island Fisheries, and the Accomack County Department of Public Safety.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
