Mrs. Nancy Virginia “Dumpling” Moran, 73, of Chincoteague Island, passed away Dec. 23, 2019, at Shore Health and Rehabilitation Center in Parksley.

She was born on Chincoteague July 9, 1946, to the late John and Florence (Williams) Taylor. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church on Chincoteague.

Mrs. Moran is survived by her loving spouse of 38 years, Edward James Moran Sr., of Chincoteague; two sons, Edward Sigmund Jr. and his wife, Elaine, of Las Vegas, and John T. Moran and his wife, Linda, of Chincoteague; four grandsons, Matthew Moran and his wife, Heather, of Chincoteague, Kenny Moran, of California, Chris Ward, of Las Vegas, and Nicholas Kennedy, of Chincoteague; four granddaughters, Brenna Benzarti, of Chincoteague, Brittany Sigmund, of Fruitland, Md., Misty Diaz and her husband, Raymond, of Wendell, N.C., and Paige Long and her husband, Matthew, of Delmar, Md.; two sisters, Susie Melvin, of Chincoteague, and Libby Hoover and her husband, Billy, of Las Vegas; four great-grandchildren, Connor, Mary Jane, Axel, and Kash; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Edward Moran Jr.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Dec. 29, 2019, at the Christ United Methodist Church, Chincoteague, with the Rev. Maurice Enright, officiating. Burial took place in the Daisey Cemetery on Church Street, Chincoteague.
