Mrs. Ruth Lee Drummond, 97, wife of the late Frank Drummond, of Parksley, passed away July 13, 2019, at Shore Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born Dec. 20, 1921, in Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Hall and the late Hallie Bloxom Hall. She worked for many years at the previous Parksley Drug Store and attended both Union and Island Baptist Church.
Mrs. Drummond is survived by her daughter, Ruth Ann Nickerson, of Parksley; a son, Jerry Parks, of Parksley; and a stepdaughter, Brenda Peffer, of New Church.
Other than her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Hall, a sister, Virginia Wessells Onley, and a special sister-in-law, Irene Christensen Hall.
A funeral service was held Wednesday, July 17, 2019, from the Thornton Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Layne officiating. Interment followed in the Parksley Cemetery. Arrangements were made by the Thornton Funeral Home in Parksley. To sign the guest book online, visit www.thorntonfuneralhome.net
