Mrs. Virginia Lee Savage passed away at her residence in Franktown, on Tuesday, April 9, 2019.
She was born in the home of her grandparent’s Lee and Nellie Gladden, in Cape Charles, on March 22, 1935. Her parents were the late Henry Lee Gladden and the late Roxie Lola Massey Gladden.
Mrs. Savage was a member of Franktown United Methodist Church and served in many areas of her church such as the United Methodist Women, Young at Heart, the administrative board, Ladies Fellowship Class, and with the youth. She was very active in the E.S. Emmaus community.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Jackson Savage Jr; three children, Beth Savage Robins (Russ), Susie Savage Dunton (Frank), and Tommy Savage (Leslie); six grandchildren, Lee Johnson (Billy), Katie Holland (Mike), Suzanne Cin (Phil), Andrew Dunton (Vicky), and Emma and Mary Charlotte Savage; and eight great-grandchildren; Sawyer and Harlin Johnson, Madelyn, Ayden, and Ryland Holland, Cole and Gavin Cin, and Rhian Dunton; two nieces, Amy and Nacole Gladden; and one sister-in-law, Libby Mears.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Henry Lee Gladden Jr.
A funeral service was conducted Saturday, April 13, at 11 a.m. at Franktown United Methodist Church with the Rev. Judy Worthington and the Rev. Alex Joyner officiating.
