Mr. Royce Adrian Parks, 83, of Exmore, passed away Monday, April 15, 2019, surrounded by his family at his residence in Exmore. His parents were the late Adrian Franklin Parks and the late Etta Mae Evans Parks.
Mr. Parks retired after working as a salesman for Kellam Distributing Company for many years, worked as a charter boat captain, was a bus driver for Northampton County Schools for over 20 years. He also coached Babe Ruth and Little League for many years. He was a member in Broadwater Lodge #71 AF & AM for more than 50 years, a Ruritan, and a member of Exmore Baptist Church in Exmore. He will be remembered with his willingness to share with everyone his love of his family, the water, fishing, and baseball.
His survivors include one daughter, Rhonda Marsh and her husband, Robert, of Melfa; one son, R.A. Parks and his wife, Kathy, of Virginia Beach, Va.; six grandchildren: Crystal White Foti and her husband, Michael; Robie Marsh and his wife, Nicole; Trey White, Tyler Parks and his wife, Ana; Brandon Parks and his wife, Laura Page; and Jacqueline Sweeney and her husband, Colin; and six great-grandchildren: Dawson Parks, Hayden Parks, Ellie Marsh, Emory Hope Parks, Briggs Marsh, and Ryane Sweeney; and a sister, Jean Harris and her husband, Fred of Exmore.
Mr. Parks was predeceased by his wife, Martha Lee Byrd Parks, and his daughter, Joan Parks Landon.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 19, at 11 a.m. at Belle Haven Cemetery in Belle Haven, with the Pastor Jonathan Carpenter officiating. Masonic funeral rites will follow the service.
