Ms. Ina Faye Clark Reid of Avon, N.C., formerly of Chincoteague, passed away peacefully Jan. 8, 2019, at Peak Resources of the Outer Banks.
She was born in Chincoteague May 16, 1934, to the late Hilton and Lula Powell Clark.
Ms. Reid never forgot her beloved island and all her relatives and school friends and often spoke of them. She was a homekeeper, a true Chincoteaguer, and an artist at heart, painting many scenes of her beloved Eastern Shore and Chesapeake Bay with wildfowl in flight, as well as great impressions of the many cartoon characters she knew of including Little Henry and Dennis the Menace. She was a joy to be around with a contagious smile and laugh. She will be missed by those of us who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Dorothy Barrs and her brothers Walt Clark, John Clark, George Clark, and Clarence Clark.
She is survived by her long-time companion Cecil Stanley Williams Jr. and a host of nieces and nephews.
A private ceremony will be held at a later date with interment in the Clara Ann Williams Family Cemetery, North End Road, Avon, N.C.
Twiford Funeral Home, in Manteo, N.C., is assisting the family with arrangements.
