Mrs. Theo Smith Clayton, 81, wife of Raymond E. Clayton and a resident of Willis Wharf, passed away Sunday, Jan. 13, 2019, at her residence. A native of Willis Wharf, she was the daughter of the late James Theodore Smith Sr. and the late Lily Bradford Smith. She was a retired registered nurse and member of Epworth United Methodist Church. Mrs. Mrs. Clayton Clayton enjoyed needlepoint, quilting, crocheting and had a vast knowledge about Hog Island history.
In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by two children, Bettie C. Moore and her husband, David, of Willis Wharf, and Ted Clayton and his wife, Deborah, of Princess Anne, Md.; and a grandson, Chris Moore, of Virginia Beach, Va.
A graveside service was conducted Jan. 16, 2019, at Belle Haven Cemetery with the Rev. Mikang Kim officiating. Memorials may be made to Epworth United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 488, Exmore, VA 23350.
