A Maryland resident who is accused of the July 2018 murder of a young Delaware man was arrested on a fugitive warrant in Accomack County Monday.

It is unclear from records filed in Accomack General District Court why Dwayne Anthony Dotson, 22, of Williamsburg Church in Hurlock, Md., was in Virginia. Deputy Shane E. Henning of the Accomack County Sheriff’s Office made the arrest nearly 7 p.m., Jan. 14.

The file stated Dotson worked at Perdue as part of a work-release program. It didn’t state which Perdue facility employed him.

Delaware authorities plan to extradite Dotson, who is charged with first-degree murder and possession of a firearm in connection with the death of Trevor A. McClements, 18, of Seaford, Del.

McClements was shot in the head on July 9, 2018, at 3000 Daniel St., in Carvel Gardens Apartments in Sussex County, Del., a Delaware newspaper reported. “Police said an altercation between multiple people occurred before shots were fired.”
