Mr. Wayne Russell Mason, 71, resident of Onancock, passed away Friday, Sept. 21, 2018, at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital.
Born March 11, 1947, in Baltimore, Md., he was the son of the late Alvin Henry Mason and Kathleen Jane Russell Mason. Mr. Mason grew up on the family farm, which instilled in him a passion for farming that he carried throughout his life. He loved working with his hands and was especially talented at woodworking. With charm and charisma unlike any other, Mr. Mason was quick to make a friend and loved the ladies. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Mason is survived by two sisters, Barbara Williams and Kay Ellicott, both of Onancock; three nieces; and eight nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two nieces.
A memorial service will be conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Andy Cobb officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Williams Funeral Home, P.O. Box 214, Onancock, VA 23417, to assist with funeral expenses.
