Mr. Jack Pierson, 88, of Onley, loving husband of Rose, passed away on Sept. 10, 2018, in his home.
Born on July 1, 1930, in New York, City, he was the son of the late Nathaniel Pierson and Margaret Raymond Pierson. Mr. Pierson served our country in the U.S. Navy Sea-Bees during the Korean conflict.
He has been the mayor of Onley for 6 years and previously served on the town council. He was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Parish Council and a member of the Elks.
Other than his wife, Mr. Pierson is survived by a son, John Robert, daughters, Joanne Bleeker and Barbara Freitag; six grandchildren: Nicholas, Jessica, Alexia, Christopher, Veronica, and Christian; and two great-grandchildren, Dominick and Joseph.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Celebration will be held on Sunday, Sept. 16, at 2 p.m., at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Onley.
Arrangements were made by the Thornton Funeral Home in Parksley.
