Mr. David Alan “Dave” Towles, 72, husband of the late Florence Riddle “Flossie” Towles and a resident of Onancock, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018.
Born May 10, 1946, in Washington, District of Columbia., he was the son of the late David P. Towles and Margaret Von Seggron Towles. Mr. Towles was a retired trooper with the Virginia State Police, and later served as a deputy with the Accomack County Sheriff’s Department. He was a United Methodist, served his country in the U.S. Air Force, and a member of the Onancock Volunteer Fire Department, volunteering for many years at the annual Fireman’s Carnival.
Survivors include his two daughters, Jeanette Berryhill, of Onancock, and Megan Mazzola and her husband, Michael, of Mount Airy, Md.; four grandchildren, Tayah and Treyce Berryhill, and Madison and Matthew Mazzola; and a great-grandson, Jakai Berryhill. Funeral services were conducted from the chapel of Williams-Onancock Funeral Home at on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018, with Pastor Rob Kelly officiating. Interment followed in the Fairview Lawn Cemetery.
