Mr. Harry Lee Shelton, 92, husband of the late Louise Tyndall Shelton and a resident of Onancock, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2018, with his children by his side.
Born Aug. 8, 1926, in Wachapreague, he was a son of the late Elmer Shelton and Mollie Kellam Shelton. Following his service in the U.S. Army, Mr. Shelton began working as a route salesman for RC Cola, and later for Pepsi-Cola where he became a supervisor, retiring after more than thirty years with the company. Mr. Shelton was the beloved patriarch of his family, and his presence will be greatly missed by his loved ones.
Survivors include his four children, Anna Rosette Heslep and husband, Neil, of Crimora, Va., Barbara Lilliston, of Onancock, Gene Page Shelton, of Painter, and Harry Lee Shelton Jr., of Richmond, Va.; and numerous grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nieces and nephews, all of whom he adored. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his son, Brian Dale Shelton; daughter, Eileen Shelton Thomas; and his siblings.
Funeral services were conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018, with Rev. Andy Cobb officiating. Interment followed in the Fairview Lawn Cemetery.
