Tales 4 Tots Story Time

“The People in Our Neighborhood” is the theme for the Chincoteague Island Library’s pre-school Tales 4 Tots story time. Held every Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Library from September 13 to December 13, the program includes songs, stories, and crafts. So far this fall, there were special visits from the director of the Museum of Chincoteague, Maria Cathell; Accomack County school bus driver, Ellen Richardson and the school bus; Stormy the Town Trolley with driver Jodie Andreatch and director Larry Welsh; and Chincoteague YMCA director, Katie O’Shea.

Recently, our special guest was CVFC firefighter, Denise Bowden who read several fire fighter stories to the children. After the songs, stories and crafts, everyone walked over to the Cropper Street Firehouse where Ms. Bowden showed the children the fire trucks.
On Thursday, November 1 the special guest with be a Chincotegaue Island police officer.
The Tales 4 Tots program will continue through December 13, every Thursday at 10:00 AM (except on Thanksgiving Day). Tales 4 Tots for children ages 2- 5 and includes songs, stories, finger plays, and crafts. T4T is free and open to the public due to the hard work of Library volunteers, donations and support from the community. According to Chincoteague Island Library Board President, Linda Ryan, “The activity at Library does not stop at the end of the busy summer season, programs continue all year round. We are proud to serve the needs of the residents and guests 12 months a year! Residents and visitors are invited to visit the Chincoteague Island Library.”
