Science and Philosophy Seminar of the Eastern Shore of Virginia has scheduled its next seminar, “Where Medical Care Was Unknown: Pioneering in British East Africa.” The free 90-minute seminar will be at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, December 7 in the Lecture Hall of the Eastern Shore Community College, 29300 Lankford Hwy, Melfa, VA 23410.
JoJo (Catherine) Chaddic will talk about the Flying Doctor Service of East Africa, the vision and determination of its founders, and its early years.
Chaddic is retired from her career as a Family Nurse Practitioner; she practiced in Africa, the United States, Romania, Thailand, and her native Switzerland.
