Messiah Sing-Along

The Hungars Music Ministry will present the fourth annual “Messiah” Sing-along 4 p.m. Sunday, December 9, at Hungars Church. The program is co-sponsored by the Orchestra of the Eastern Shore and will be conducted and directed by Dr. Paul Kim, the Orchestra’s Music Director.
Christina Bartholomew will be featured as soprano soloist. Elizabeth Wolfe and Dr. Marilyn Kellam will perform as alto soloists, with Jack Womble as tenor and Lou Negretti as bass. Kathy Kutz, Assistant to the Rector for Music Ministries at Hungars, will play the organ and harpsichord.
Handel’s “Messiah” sing-alongs have become annual seasonal events all over the country. Audiences are invited “to raise their voices in song” as they join in singing selections from the work. Performances feature soloists and a full orchestra to provide a core of support for
singing.
Some scores will be available at the concert. In addition, people who plan to attend are urged to check on-line opportunities to purchase and/or download scores.
A reception will follow the Sing-along in the Church Parish House.
The performance is free of charge, and a free-will offering will be taken to cover costs. Hungars Episcopal Church is located at 10107 Bayside Road, Machipongo.
