Island Theatre Annex Hosts Two Weekend Events

September 21, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

The Chincoteague Island Arts Organization is hosting two outstanding events this
weekend in the Island Theatre Annex.
On Friday, September 20th at 7 p.m., musicians and authors Rod Picott, Shari
Smith and Radney Foster will perform their music and read selected passages from
their books. Picott is an author and singer-songwriter whose work incorporates
elements of Americana, alternative country, and folk. Smith is the author of “I Am
a Town”, a collection of short stories that capture the essence of southern small-
town life. Foster, an author and singer-songwriter, explores the physical and
emotional landscapes that shape the American experience. Books and CDs will be
available for purchase and signing. This event is sponsored by Sundial Books.

On Saturday, September 21st in the afternoon at 2 p.m., local artist and author
Dan Thomas will discuss his latest book, “A Year on the Tump”. In this his second
book, Thomas celebrates Chincoteague and the impact of seasonal change on
island life over the course of a year from the perspectives of both come-here’s
and Teaguers. Special guests include Denise Bowden, Roe Terry and Barbara
Walker. Thomas’s books will be available for purchase and signing.
Admission to both events is free, but seating is limited. Doors open 30 minutes
prior to the program start times. A beer and wine cash bar will be available at
both events. The Chincoteague Island Theatre Annex is at 4076 Main St.
