Health Fair at ESCC Heritage Day

The Lions Clubs on the Eastern Shore are partnering with Eastern Shore Community
College (ESCC) and the Lions Charity Foundation of Southeastern Virginia offering a Heath Fair on Heritage Day, Saturday, February 29, from 9am to 1 pm. Everyone is invited for free vision and hearing screenings.
The Lions Sight and Hearing Mobile Unit will be at ESCC for the sight and hearing screenings. If needed, people will be directed to the nursing classroom inside the ESCC Workforce Development Building for a free follow up eye examination by Dr. Foley or Dr. Weiler. Prescriptions may then immediately be filled using Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center glasses. If no recycled glasses meet the need, and a person can prove financial need, a voucher for the needed glasses will be given to get the prescription glasses from a local provider.
People needing vouchers because they cannot afford glasses will need to provide proof of financial need. Acceptable documentation of financial need includes proof of inclusion in a federal poverty program such as food stamps, Medicaid, Section 8 housing, etc. Documentation of eligibility for the sliding scale program at Eastern Shore Rural Health is also acceptable.
Lions will be available to help complete forms for financial assistance.
