COVID Booster Clinic

Eastern Shore Rural Health System, Inc. will hold an adult COVID booster clinic Wednesday Dec. 8 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at its Onley Community Health Center at 20306 Badger Lane. Appointments are required for this boosters only event – no first or second doses will be given. Moderna and Pfizer boosters will be offered at this clinic – Johnson & Johnson will not be given. Booster shots are now available to anyone age 18 and up who had their 2nd Pfizer or Moderna dose at least 6 months ago. COVID-19 vaccinations, including boosters, are free with no out-of-pocket cost. You do not have to be a Rural Health patient to get vaccinated or get a booster at Rural Health. You do need to provide proof of vaccination if you received your first shots somewhere else. Note the Eastern Shore Health Department continues to offer walk in Moderna and Johnson & Johnson COVID vaccines at its Northampton location from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and at the Accomack location from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesdays. All three types of COVID vaccines and boosters are available at Rural Health by appointment, call a Rural Health center to set up a time. See the COVID tab at esrh.org for information.  

Given the appearance of the new Omicron COVID variant during the holidays all people eligible for boosters should get one per the CDC.  Current vaccines should offer at least partial protection against this new variant and the Delta variant is still circulating.
