Blessing of the Pets to Celebrate St. Francis’ Day

There will be a Blessing of the Pets to celebrate St. Francis’ Day at Holy
Trinity Episcopal Church at 66 Market Street in Onancock, VA. It will be held at 1 p.m. on
October 6 outside in the playground/ memorial garden area behind the church. All are welcome – bring your family, friends, pets (large and small), and offerings to support the SPCA of the Eastern Shore. The SPCA will bring some of their “residents” who will be blessed and also looking for a good home. No pet? No problem! Maybe in the spirit of St. Francis a homeless pet may find a loving home.
The SPCA has wish list items such as: Purina dry dog food, Purina One dog food, Nudges
Steak Grillers dog treats, Golden Rewards small biscuits wrapped with chicken peanut flavored dog treats, Purina Cat Chow Indoor (green bag), Purina Kitten Chow, Temptations cat treats, Non-clumping clay cat litter, Dawn dish liquid, liquid laundry detergent, bleach, donations in any amount, pet medications of all kinds. Bring items as an offering that can be donated to this wonderful organization.
The service will be relatively short and we will gather in a large circle for the blessing. This is a BYO Chair event. Please bring your own chair if you would like to be seated during the service.
