Mrs. Dixie Evans Guy, age 90, of Onancock, peacefully entered eternal life to be with her Lord and Savior on Aug. 13, 2026.
Born in Cashville on June 14, 1936, to Edwin and Willye Etta Evans, Dixie lived a life defined by unwavering faith, selflessness, and an extraordinary devotion to her family.
A dedicated, longtime member of Onancock Baptist Church and later Baptist Bible Church of Accomac, she found her greatest joy in serving Christ and living out the gospel daily.
When life brought unexpected pain or challenges, Dixie always answered the call of love and fully embraced the responsibility, no matter the challenge.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Briggs (Norman); her son, David Guy; her granddaughter, Nicole Marsh (Robie), whom she raised like her own; her brother, Ivan Evans; her sisters, Nancy Hoskinson and Joann Rankin; her great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Dixie Marsh and Briggs Adrian Marsh; many nieces and nephews; her faithful sisters-in-Christ, the Rev. Charlene Harris and Margaret Ann Harris; and a host of extended family and church members.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Willis Guy, and her daughter, Rhonda Lynn Guy.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, Aug. 18, at 11:30 a.m. from Baptist Bible Church, with Pastor Jonathan Budd officiating. A reception followed the service at the church.
